Golden syntheses: towards continuous production

Sometimes, when talking with colleagues, and especially young researchers, we realize that some recurring problems can actually be solved more simply than expected.
By combining the skills and questions of three young researchers (Mélanie Romain, Mélanie François and Dorra Ben Elkadhi) we realized that pre-industrial production of gold nanoparticles was still an issue in the development of nanotechnologies.
Thanks to an hydrothermal continuous process we were able to produce, in a continuous way in large quantities and within few seconds, gold NPs in aqueous solvent. This new approach demonstrated important improvements for the development of gold based nanotechnologies by reducing the time of reaction and working in a green chemistry environment.

I would like to take the opportunity of this paper to thank the two Mélanie(s) and Dorra and to especially congratulate Dorra for her first first author paper and the front cover that highlighted our work!
